Our Story
Hotel PuraKilla is a 200 year old casona owned by the Latorre family. It had fallen into a state of disrepair with 2 of the 3 back patio wings completely falling to the ground. One of the family members decided to remodel it into a hote so more people could enjoy its unique location in the heart of Quillabamba. This was done without losing the welcoming and home-like enviroment that this house always has given to various families that shared its walls. The floorplan for back patio stayed the same as well as the original adobe walls that were still standing. It was given modern comforts but at the same time not losing out on the colonial style. In Quechua puraq killa is a way of saying full moon, and pura in spanish means pure; referencing the hotel as a symbol of the essence of Quillabamba. A warm tropical paradise full of verdant landscapes and cool waterfalls to cool off in.

Our mission in Hotel Purakilla is to provide a friendly and comfortable stay in our rooms so you can unwind and relax with great food, weather and customer service.
Vision
The vision is to provide a great comfortable place to stay where one can feel at home before going to one of the numerous attractions around the department of Cusco. With a multitude of nearby waterfalls, natural parks, pristine rivers and canyons a hike in a jungle paradise is always just a short trip away. For those that want to experience more of the rich Peruvian history, Cusco is 5 hours away and the route is filled with many ruins, Machu Picchu and Choquequirao both being the most famous as well as being just a couple hours from Quillabamba. There are also Chocolate and Coffee farms(chakras) that provide a unique and rich experience to see how these farms work and provide food. We hope to one day establish residencies on these chakras so that our visitors have a room to stay in with the same quality of accommodation in our Hotel.
